Holly's Grandfather and Photographer for the New York World-Telegram & The Sun from 1956-1969
So many people ask me who my favorite artist is and that person is unquestionably, my grandfather, Roger Higgins. While I never got to meet him, his iconic photographs adorned the walls of my childhood home and his artistic influence on me has inspired me to this day. Unfortunately, most of Roger's images have been lost, destroyed, or remain uncredited, but there are still a few of his slides and negatives that exist undeveloped and unseen by the public. I happen to own that small box of his incredible work. One day it is a dream of mine to have an exhibition of my own work alongside my grandfather's, showcasing the same places photographed fifty years apart- first by his film camera and later by my DSLR.
Scanned from the original slides processed in Roger Higgins' own personal dark room, the photographs below are not retouched and show the imperfections of film photography . All of Roger's photos can be ordered in any size. They are available in prints, mats, or frames. Please contact me for pricing.
